Would love to hear more from the band or the video's director. Kinda shocked no one has commented yet on the video details but here's some (possibly ahistorical) observations:
The flashbacks appear to be regarding the Indonesian National Revolution. Initially, I thought it was the Battle of Bataan but the veteran's hat/regalia convinced me otherwise. Another link to Indonesia are the two Tanggai dance performers. The nail decoration could point to a few places so I'm not 100%. What I initially presumed to be American soldiers, could be Dutch or British. No cultural context on the goat-hooved or forked-tongued actors but I assume they are symbols for liars. Also opium (poppy plant) has been used many times by governments as a tool to cripple the enemy and the public. In the case of Indonesia in the 40's, the public was not only addicted, but their economy became dependent on it's export.

I'm not sure why but the cinematography is just so ridiculously good. I can't tell if it's the crispness, the actors, or the song but something about this video is very badass. It has that same grittiness that Dethrone by Bad Omens had. This is probably my favorite song and I just now heard it.
