Battlefields sound design was always the best, but here they fell off. COD has them beat in the sound and even the animations of reloading and attention to details on the guns

man.. mw2019 allready feels like a childhood game.. and im 23... tbh i was not a huge fan of the multyplayer maps but shoot house, shipment and hardhat motivated me to keep playin.. and not to forgett the fact, that mw2019 was timed allmost perfectly.. quarantine + warzone.. god i really loved mw2019..

This is a a cool comparison, I’ve always been a Battlefield follower before COD but in a lot of ways DICE really dropped the ball with 2042, like I can forgive most of it but it still pains me to see Battlefield do so poorly when Battlefield was always a game ahead of its time, but now not so much. I hope they revamp some of the weapon animations one day in 2042 as they really feel like they were done by interns, like the RPG in Portal for example, it’s the most Arcady reload I’ve seen for an RPG

Graphically, Bf2042 looks a Bit Better. But in terms of details and Campaign Modern Warfare Can never Be Beaten!

As a Battlefield fan, would say each BF release was like an upgrade in graphic/sound/animations but BF2042 definitely a struggle to achieve in this version with a massive resource requirement to run the game with low FPS. CODMW2019 was a massive upgrade for COD series but sadly they went backward when they released Cold War lol.

To be honest BF2042 also look worse than older Battlefield games on 2042 map, on Portal map you definitely can say they are remasters but yeah... they really need to fix 2042 map to showcase their overall graphic.

I love the way the barrels disappear in 2042 and the magic whhels come off cars when u shoot them. Like wtf.

I'm going to be fair
MW2019 looks better in presentation, everything looks nice and smooth but the game lacks of interactivity, the environments look staticky, almost lifeless and in some parts it looks oversaturated
Meanwhile BF2042 has worse lightning and worse animations, but the environments have a lot of interaction with the player; trees shaking from explosions, holes in the ground where you can hide in, the overall destruction of the environments: houses, buildings, materials, etc
But the game also lacks in the gameplay apartment, some choices of design makes the game bad.
In conclusion, at this state BF2042 doesn't worth buying, at least I'll wait a couple months to see if the game got any better

BF has the best environmental feedback (trees and grass moving from explosions and wind, destructive furniture, etc.)

MW has the best attention to detail on practicality and effects (human error while reloading, loud gunshots, impactful hits, etc.)

Each to their own, but when merged altogether, that will be a whopper of a game, that's for sure!

MW is from 2019 and holds up extremely well. Craziest thing is, MW was never about graphics and it holds up again BF2042. Says alot about the state of BF

for a game that was made for ps4 (only for ps4), we have to agree that infinity ward made a real masterpiece.. if mw would have set its focus a bit more on the groundwar mode, it would have be allmost on level with bf..

People say bf2042 has big maps which is a good thing, but it really isn't because bf2042 maps are a walking simulator where some parts of the map is empty and you hardly find anybody. I think 64 player map sizes are better.
