Hello Everyone,
Putting up my first international vlog of the year 2022, I know it's a little late as I travelled in late April'22 but it is worth the wait! Watch through my 6-day itinerary and some tips if you are planning to visit Singapore in the near future. It was a business trip - met my Asia team - worked together on strategies and had some rolling fun. Read through below for tips and recommendations. Give a thumbs up if you like the video and share it with your network!!
Pre-Travel Checks:
• Get your e-visa through an agent/online portal
• Download the International vaccine certificate downloaded from the Cowin portal - it should have your passport no.
• Book your flight tickets and accommodation in advance - I recommend Singapore Airlines or Vistara and trust me you will have a satisfactory journey.
• Book a hotel as per your budget and if you are pure vegetarian then I recommend booking your stay somewhere near little India so that you have ample eating options. Or If you are a shopaholic then stay somewhere in orchard road and you will feel like staying in a mall surrounded by all shops and malls. (Hidden Info: Hotels may ask you to deposit 200 dollars as a security deposit - so keep a credit card handy for this)
• Fill SG Arrival card within 3 days prior to flying.
• Get a travel insurance
• Get a Forex card of your choice and if you are a solo traveller then 500 Singapore dollars should be enough excluding flight and hotel prices. I got one from Indusland bank within 2 days - it was super quick. And, also have your credit card as a backup with international transactions enabled.
• RT-PCR was not mandatory when I travelled - but in case of advisory changes - ensure that your passport no. is mentioned by the testing lab in reports.
Day 1: I reached early in the morning - got a sim card at 12sgd for 7 days - took some cash from the atm at the airport - Booked my cab using the GoJek app - Checked in at Hotel Jen by Shangri la in orchard gateway - Had a full-day meeting with my team and fun time in the evening. (Note: Lunchtime in SG is 11:30 am to 1 pm and Dinner time kicks off at 6:30 pm in the evening - since you'll be travelling from India - give 24 hours to adjust to the new routine)
Day 2: It was a day full of meetings followed by team dinner at Royal Scott Plaza and then walked around the streets to experience the nightlife.
Day 3: It was team activity day - we visited Gardens By The Bay, Marina Bay Sands and did paint the room activity, followed by Jungle Safari in the evening. I highly recommend gardens by the bay and marina bay sands - you would just love it I can assure you.
Day 4: It was a Universal Studios day - full of adventure and fun time spent with my friend Natalia. (Tip: Reach the venue in Sentosa Island max. by 11:30 am and you will leave from there only by 7 pm in the evening if you intend to cover all rides - We got express tickets as well to skip the long queues)
Day 5: It was shopping day for us. I travelled to Bugis street for some souvenirs and local stuff, then headed to Little India, followed by a visit to Merlion Park, a mall near Fullerton hotel and then had dinner at Lau pa sat with Rommel, my ex-D2L colleague. It was a fun and tiring day.
Day 6: It was a departure day and my flight got delayed by an hour due to some airlines issue with SG authorities. Overall, a trip worth the visit and I am looking forward to travelling again in near future.

Food Tips for vegetarians - Look for subway nearby if you do not like the taste of food in SG or carry some instant food for an emergency. Must try milo and watermelon juice!!

Travel Tips in SG - Keep apps handy like gojek, klook for all bookings and use MRT (aka metro) and buses if you want to keep costs low.

What to buy - Souvenirs from Bugis/Chinatown, Electronics are somewhat cheaper from India and you may wanna buy something for yourself.
