I would have never thought to move the numbers around (like subtract the 4x from both sides like that ) especially for equations that contain unknown variables! Too scary! . For me I would have mechanically (and safely) relied on picking numbers; I use this acronym ZONE F that reminds me to covers negatives, fraction, extremes, zero and 1 . Of course this can take time ; which incidentally is my biggest issue at the moment. Thanks you so much for this strategy. It was quite interesting to see this approach .
