Mac Outgoing Mail Problems

Thanks the 25 - 587 port was the problem !!!

I got all the way to "Select Advance" tab. All I see is TLS certificate and a drop down menus that currently states "none".
There is nothing allowing me to select "ports"

what about when the recipient list is so long on the message (corporate email), that you can scroll down to the actions below? I can't kill this message. so frustrating!

респект! метод работает и на Mac os Sierra, там другой интерфейс, и порт уже прописан, только нужно указать способ идентификации "пароль", автору спасибо!

Unfortunately  Mac Mail has sucked since after Snow Leopard. I use Cox internet & it's just THE WORST combination to try & get working correctly. But this fix won't help I've tried multiple times on multiple days. Ever since the update request from the ISP's to switch to IMAP it's just been a complete mess. And I hate how fragmented the mail app is as well. There's a Mac Mail section, the a separated "On my Mac" & then possibly another one for your folders on your ISP?? Why do I have a minimum 3 different sections this makes no sense?

Sadly none of these steps helped. Mail just doesn't want to play nice with AOL.
