Here are all 6 Heats of the Boys 400 Meter Dash from the 2018 CIF (Southern Section) Division 1 Track and Field Prelims meet held on May 12, 2018 at Trabuco Hills High School in Mission Viejo, California.
Commentary: Heat 1 - Best that we can tell, Johnson takes a half-second off his junior PR here. Makes it through to State Finals and lowers that PR to 47.62. Nice. Heat 6's Phillippy makes it through to State Prelims. Heat 3's Lapit will end up as D1 runner-up at Finals and close his season with a PR. Heat 5's Samaniego will be D1 Champ and finish 3rd at State Finals. Heat 2's Jalen Johnson gets the last spot in the Finals. Barely. Took a PR to do it.
