Okay, I get it for both ships, there is evidence there...but honestly, for their characters, Rouge and Shadow's relationship works way better platonically imo. There's some respect and acknowledgement, and she definitely helps keep him in check. Rouge and Knuckles just works as a light two-sided Tsundere ship, in both the games and the anime.
