🦉📖 *. . .All you saw was a faded wooden sign sticking out the sand. You had spent all afternoon on the beach, walking along the sand and playing in the surf. You’re sun-tired now and ready for a rest, but there is no way you’re going back inside. This is the best time of the day! The bright sun is sinking into the horizon, the heat is mellowing out. A gentle, fragrant breeze caresses your face as you walk along the warm sand. You just need to find somewhere to be in time for the show—the sunset. The sky is already beginning to bloom into outrageous oranges and pinks. Where could you go to watch it?Then the sign: Sunset Cafe. The gentle sound of slack-key guitar music leads you to a barely visible path tilted up the slope from the beach, winding between the foliage to a beautiful little spot. Wooden tables and chairs, still warm from the sun, are arrayed across the sand in a little clearing lit with magical twinkling lights. The air is sweet with the scent of jasmine and plumeria and the coconut palms above are silhouetted against the sky, now fully awash in breathtaking sunset colors. On the horizon, a tiny boat is barely visible against the sun. You settle down at an empty table and breathe deep. You’d like to stay here, you decide, for as long as possible. This evening, this place, the waves, the birds gliding dreamily across the sky, are a gift whose value is immeasurable. You know if you savor it now, you’ll be able to return to it in your mind forever. . .*

My wife passed away in 2005 and I am now in the season of my life where I spend as much time looking back as I do forward. Her greatest travel joy was to go to Hawaii. She loved the people, the beautiful flowers (she had a new lei each day), and speeding thru the waters on a catamaran. Helicopter rides thru Kaui along the grand canyon and the Na Pali cliffs. The Mauna Kea resort and the Poipu Beach Hotel. So many memories of our time together there. This truly takes me back to that time in the islands. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into this creation, it captures it all.

My parents and I first went to Hawaii back in 1992 and immediately fell in love with it! We went back a few more times, with our last visit in 2008. My dad developed cancer and died in 2015 and my mother died of dementia 4 months ago. We never made it back but Hawaii was always a special place for us. I would play this music for my mother in the months before her death. She loved it so much, and so do I.. I miss you mom and dad and I hope your spirits are in this place that's heaven on earth!

For the last 6 months my puppy Luna only wanted to listen to this as she was sick and dying. It gave us both true comfort. This video is truly sacred and special to me as Luna passed away a few days ago. Not sure if I can listen to this right now but have saved it for later. I was stationed in Hawaii ( Oahu ) as a young Marine. I was there for about 3 years, and completely fell in love with the beauty, the native Hawaiian customs and traditions. Seeing this incredibly beautiful video, it literally makes my heart ache to go HOME TO HAWAII !!!!

My wife and I are going to be 60 this year, we take trips to Hawaii about 1x/yr with our nieces and nephews and their children. This year we're taking our granddaughter who graduated high school with honors.
