Xiaomi Redmi 1S Updated Review (Snapdragon 400 Quad)

This is my updated review of the Redmi/Hongmi 1S from Xiaomi.

The Redmi/Hongmi 1S trades away the Mediatek 6589T Chipset for the Snapdragon 400 Quad that houses 4 Cortex A7 cores clocked at 1.6 Ghz each coupled with an Adreno 305 GPU and 1GB RAM.

The internal storage has now been increased to 8GB and like the original Hongmi/Redmi (Red Rice), the 1S still has a micro sd slot for memory expansion.

It still houses an 8MP Rear Camera capable of capturing 1080p video @ 30FPS and a Gorilla Glass 2 covered 4.7" 720p IPS display with a 2000mAH user replaceable battery...

The Redmi/Hongmi 1S currently runs on Android 4.3 Jellybean with Xiaomi's custom MIUI v5 on top.

Sir I have used phones with capacitive touch buttons so moving to moto g which is having on screen buttons but how we will go in options of some applications in moto g as the menu key is replaced by multi tasking key

I 'm planning to replace my trusty Huawei G300 and  I 'll probably get a Hongmi 1s. The original Hongmi had a Gorilla Glass 2  display. Does the updated model retain  the same reinforced display or it has a "regular" IPS screen?
Different web stores report that Xiaomi has replaced the Gorilla Glass screen in order  to keep the unit cost low. That would be really disappointing.

Or is there a different wcdma version available....i men can i able to use it with vodafone gsm sim card with 3g installed in d sim1 slot....plz reply....i m going to buy this phone fron flipkart as soon as it will launch....or sud i buy a moto E?

Mate i'm planning to buy this device, and during the review i came across an issue. The user review quoted this 


"there is a BIG ISSUE on with the REDMI 1S with in 3G Prefered mode, this bug stop communication during a call and make the error of the SIM card not detected the only solution are :
1# reboot the phone or 2# activate airplane and off
See the MIUI China Forum, a lot of owners are facing this problem with this smartphone
last firmware is Stable ROM 24.0
we are waiting some news from Xiaomi but : but still no reaction from Xiaomi !!!"
