who is this we! the few people who can affect change have so well distributed their eggs amongst baskets that it is impossible to boycott, protest, or influence government more than their money does. i’m sure they would be more happy for all of us to eat bugs and continue living in misery as we are, than they would be to downsize the world and encourage some return to small scale, local farming and manufacturing sensibilities which would solve a decent amount of problems. starting over with what we know now we could fix a lot of problems, use more renewable resources and clean energy, and potentially use technology to great benefit. the death of community is responsible for many of the problems in modern society, and that in turn is caused by the absolutely disastrous concepts of the industrial revolution and the overexcitedness of humanity to do every single thing it can possibly do. in the words of jurassic park, “they were preoccupied with whether or not they could they did not stop to think if they should…” you’d think it would get through to the people who actually make these things happen, by now most of them must have seen jurassic park, but other people do them too so it’s “just how the world works”. plus money is a lot stronger than anything else. shit is doomed for a while, the few who didn’t will soon realize we cannot perpetuate easily without nature and the many will suffer for the greed of the few. glad it’s this instead of the eugenics wars, all things considered. the world can heal. it’s great at that.
