Pop Music's First Female Mega Star she dominated the Billboard Charts at the end of the 70's, selling millions worldwide and pushing the boundaries by crossing into multiple genres. The first solo artist to have 3 #1 singles and 5 top 10s and/or 5 top 5 singles in a calendar year (79). The most commercially successful female artist of the 70s, she was a top 10 artist on the World Pop Charts for 4 consecutive year 76-79. Hot Stuff won Donna a Grammy in the Rock category because its a rock and roll party song not a disco song.

"Bad Girls" LP was massive! It wa one of the few LPs to get good reviews from most music critics. It was just a lot of fun.

… WITHOUT Donna there would be NO Madonna and whatever their names are!! DONNA was and is the queen of all beginnings of today's music! … She was the ancestor of all singers who came after her!! ... I first saw Donna on January 10, 1976 in the "Star Parade" when she sang the song "Love to love you Baby"! It was wonderful!!! ...THEN Donna's world career began!! ... A strong melancholy comes up with me again and again that she is no longer there!! ✨💎✨ 🕯

Thanks for bringing Donna to your channel guys! Yay! She really was a force to be reckoned with in the 70's and 80's. She was so much more than just Disco though... such a talented singer and all around artist with an excellent voice. There is plenty of concert footage of her singing this song and many of her others. Please do more Donna! Check out MacArthur Park, On the Radio, Dim All the Lights, Bad Girls, She Works Hard for the Money, Last Dance and so many more. Thanks again! :)

Iconic sound! So recognizable and familiar. Immediate good vibes! You are so right about the disco/rock fusion in this song. Her voice definitely has a rock edge as well - so great.🔥 Thanks guys!!

Donna Summer won a Grammy for Best Rock Vocal in 1979 with Hot Stuff, she was also nominated in 1981 as Best Rock Vocalist (Female) for Cold Love and again in 1982 for Protection. Donna is the only artist to win awards in 4 different genres: R&B, rock, dance and gospel. She was nominated in 5 different genres: pop, R&B, rock, dance and gospel. As much as she was a Disco Queen she proved she could sing anything.

I think you guys might enjoy Donna Summer dueting with Barbra Streisand - - Enough is Enough (No More Tears). The song really showcases Summer's great voice (along with Streisand of course).

Donna Summer had one of the best voices of the last 50 years. She could sing ANYTHING from pop to rock to new wave to country and Opera, and recorded all of it. She was amazing and one of the biggest selling female singers of the 70's and 80's and toured and recorded until she died in 2012. The guitar solo was played by Jeff Baxter of the Doobie Brothers. It's been in many movies and commercials since she passed away especially. There is video of her performing live on YouTube. As far as how many views it has, since we can't see what video you are watching, I can't comment, but this song is posted many times, with some views in the millions. Just depends on the clip you choose.

The guitar solo was done by: Jeffrey Allen "Skunk" Baxter (born December 13, 1948) is an American guitarist, known for his stints in the rock bands Steely Dan and The Doobie Brothers during the 1970s and Spirit in the 1980s. In 1972, he became a founding member of the band Steely Dan.
