Another tip is if you're doing an X marks the spot map and cant find the X. Burry a peice of loot and compare the X on your loot map to the voyage map.

7:55 you can leave a chest of rage unattended on a sloop if you do something that’s quite simple
1. Put 3 buckets from the sea into your boat (the bucket in your ship won’t put enough water in)
2. Get the chest of rage on your ship
3. Go to the bottom of your ship with the chest of rage, go to the very end turn around and put the chest on the single barrel

Tip #12 needs to be corrected. When sailing any ship directly into the wind, it is faster to have your sails flat. While sailing the sloop, it is faster to have your sail flat in every wind direction when you cannot reach full billow.

Note about ship roles, there are only 4 roles on a galleon, on the other ships there are less.
On brigs there is a helm, a main cannon and a flex cannon. Helm will mostly be the bilge aswell as the helm.
On sloop it is simply cannoneer and helm. Helm steers, repairs and buckets. Either player can board occasionally

One simple tip for doing treasure hunts, when you get to a stage where the next instruction is n paces in a given direction from a landmark, take out the compass and use the primary fire action to raise it. Your character will walk in very distinct paces to count off rather than guessing at the distance. You can also use this technique to hide your own temporary treasure in less obvious spots and then hide/discard the map from your map table such as if you want to hide a particularly valuable treasure until things cool down or you rank up an emissary flag. Pick an bland grassy patch to bury it then pick out a landmark and use the compass to count off steps and direction. Invert the direction from your landmark when you want to dig it up again.

For kegs on ur ship, if you must carry them(either to sell mega kegs or to use in combat) keeping them on a rowboat works best in my experience, and if you see another ship, drop the rowboat off BEFORE the are close enough to shoot at it(and assuming you have a crew member you can also row away on it to try to catch the other ship, or put it somewhere you'll be able to return to it later), and when parked at an island if you do for some reason with kegs, take the rowboat at least some distance from your ship, so that if someone does show up, even if they see it at very least you have a chance to react and stop them from using said kegs on you
