This exercise helped the lady I was assisting. Before the severe struck she experienced I was told she couldn't really pronounce S properly. But now? It is wayyyy better.

Thanks so much for your help

I’m putting together a playlist and asking any clients I work with to Like and subscribe that I share it with. This has proven to be a genuinely effective approach for a couple of reasons not the least of which is I can now monitor ‘views’ as a measure of compliance! 😅 As a speech therapist you should be confused by my wanton use of a preposition to end that first sentence. Thank you. It is a list I text clients in the hopes they practice - I’m not repackaging, selling or profiting in any way. Other than having an ST who is better at explaining oral mech than I am. I hope you feel this is a fair exchange, if not by all means send me a note and we’ll talk.

Nice video, when you pronounce it with the tip of the tongue at the bottom, the other part of the tongue which position has? Middle and relax like /ʌ/ or pushing down like /ɑ/ or other?
Thank you

Hi good day to you, may I ask you when pronouncing /iy/ sound, do the sides of tongue touch the upper teeth when gliding to /y/ sound?
Are the tongue position of these final sounds the same when saying /aɪ/, /ɔɪ/, /ey/ and /iy/? Thank you very much in advance. Have a beautiful day.

Thanks for another great video. The sound is particularly difficult for me, as air escapes from my nose due to velopharyngeal dysfunction. Ironically, I can make this sound perfectly when I have a stuffy nose. Ha!
