click on the master track...and drag and drop fx to the fx area....or u can literally drop fx on the master track from the browser in either session or arrangement view...its pretty simple.

you can place effects on Master and you can type in tempo as well. you can hit Tab to quick change from arrangement to session view. and shift Tab to change from clip view to effect view. When you select the master channel make sure you switch to the effect tab to see effects on master channel. you can also just drop any effect on any channel if you want to.
Cntrl/Cmnd shift U will give you quantize settings.

chopping up notes u use the pencil tool....change the grid to the quantization u want...and draw in the notes....in pencil mode u just drag the pencil over each cell while pressing the mouse to draw the notes.

I'm not an Ableton user so take this for what it is worth, but other videos I've seen if you press the plus or minus on the keyboard number pad you can change the time division of the midi notes drawn on the grid. Thanks for the video.

pressing "B" when in piano roll, changes it into a brush which gives you the ability to click in and delete much faster when drawing midi in

Fruity loops devs hand crafted this daw for us awakened individuals so we can be two steps ahead, using another daw is pure sacrilege. Fl gang will not accept this kind of treachery.

Just wanted to let you know that you don't have to click in to play with your midi...you just have to make sure the track is armed there's an arm rec track circle on every track.
