Good stuff as usual. Thank you High Point!

So glad HPS started sharing tips via video. You all have always bent over backwards when giving personal advice when I am making a purchase. However, your videos complement and further improve my skills in this hobby. Greta stuff and very much appreciated!

EXCELLENT advise.
Due to your video, I plan to add several more hours to my current project, M81.

Great Vid Teagan! The Demonstration of the noise differential was awesome!

You guys are awesome! Thanks for clearing up how much total data is needed to accurately represent an object. My question is - what is your recommended exposure length during a single session? I know it depends on many things, but given ideal environmental and mechanical conditions - what would your general recommendation be?

Realizing I need more data, I just bought a HypeStar for my 6" Schmidt Cassegrain, which allows me to collect 30 hours of data in one night.

Excellent video..can you do something on the length of exposure and why...is it better to take more 120sec subs or better to do the same time elapsed but at say 300 sec subs?..when do you know the difference...to take them at different time exposures. I am a total newb and have only shot IC434 and M42 but only 10 frames at 300 sec each target..had what I thought was pretty good for my first light but in doing more research there seems to be conjecture about how long the subs should be...I think this also has a effect on what Bortle sky you shoot from though. Currently learning it all at my current home in bortle 6 but will be moving to my farm which is bortle 1 late this year

i have the celestron Nexstar 8se and when i do more than 5 second exposures i get star trails. dose any one know how to fix that?

Which application you used for stacking

question, how can you take images of the same object on different nights, aren't the calibration frames going to be different?

are.... are those eye bolts on your Atlas??

Great tip. Thanks for the videos! If the total integration time is the same, which is better - less images of longer exposures or more images of shorter exposures? For example, 3 hours of data - 36 exposures of 300 seconds or 180 exposures of 60 seconds?

I havnt done many targets with long expsure time yet. My longest is 9hours per channel and it is still my worst picture. Guess ill get around to try that on a good target eventually.

What kind of memory consumption occurs when collecting 10-15 hours of data? I have a 24mp DSLR, recently modified. I'm just curious, if I can keep all my data on a single memory card, for purposes of keeping my sessions organized.... rather than having multiple memory cards and not knowing which one is which.

Try telling that to astrophotographers living in Seattle 😢
