Correct about running AC all the time instead of on and off. Set higher when not around, lower when home

You are 100% spot on about the home A/C vs car A/C. It's cheaper to keep a house as close to the desired temp (This is true for HEATING as well!). The is no economy (and perhaps WORSE economy) by turning the A/C off while away at work. I have mine (old, but timed thermostat) set for 10F warmer for two hours after I leave, and THEN goes to desired temp two hours when I expect to be back. It's never "off" entirely.

If you have a BASEMENT, a HVAC friend of mine said to set the FAN from AUTO to ON to run continuously. It will cost you less than a dime (I forgot a month or year) to do this. The fan will circulate the cool air from the basement throughout the house and lower your overall summer electric bill. -- Thank you, Scotty, for educating all of us about car and other important things in our lives.

My home AC went out and everyday until it got fixed was 95°. It took almost 3 days to cool the house back down to 78°.

I'm a government trained mechanic with ea certificate in mechanical engineering. Scotty is right as usual. The two best cars are the Corolla and the Civic, even in the U.K. and Africa.

WD-40 should never be used as a lubricant because it is not a lasting lubricant; WD-40 is a water and oil displacing solvent. It can clean off rust and impurities but that is not lubricating, just cleaning.

I have 2 AC window units in my home. It doesn't take more than 20 minutes to cool down my office (on the opposite side of the house). I typically keep my bedroom AC turned on all day, which blows into my living room. When I'm working I'll adjust the temp in the bedroom to around 76º during the hot days. Living in western Pennsylvania, we've been known to have some cool summer nights. So at times I'll shut off the AC and use a window fan to blow the cold air into the house over night. Next day I'll turn the AC back on and maintain the temp. I've gotten pretty good at balancing out the power bill using these techniques.

I found that it is cheaper to run window units than to use a central unit. I convinced my aunt about a year ago to try it and her bill went from 500 on avg to 300 on avg.... monthly.
She has about 3000sf to deal with too which is why she didn't think it would be cheaper.... we live in Tampa, Fl.

I love my Corolla. BUT the sheet metal is to thin and the hubcaps won’t stay on. However, it just keeps going.

9:21 I like to think of a house air conditioning like a fridge, it only kicks on, when it gets above the set temperature, so it automatically turns itself off and on, if you turn it off, it gets really hot, then it'll have to work extra hard to cool back down
