Working in a prison is a unique experience and the everyday of our jobs is extraordinary. And our varied and interesting careers are done by people like you.

Prison officer O’Connell says, “The rapport and relationship you have with the men. Knowing for that period in their life, you’ve actually made a positive change in someone, just makes it all worthwhile.”

And OSG Ruddock says, “Working as an operational support grade stands out from anything I’ve done before. We’re the hub of the prison. It’s really helped me progress as a person.”

Both work at HMP Highpoint, which is a category C training and resettlement prison in a rural area 6 miles from Haverhill in Suffolk. Watch their video to hear more about their roles and what they enjoy about their work.
