As to the clouds, sky and plane, you can pint directly on the cured resin, tiny layers on tiny layers, and get the same effect. Weirdly, if you do it in a clear vessel, you won't be able to see the painting on the layers except from the top. From the side, the whole thing will look pretty much clear. A cool effect.
