For all the love torn apart in war.

Lost, baffled, and in pain
as if three armed men are battling inside my head.
Oh how my weary eyes could shed blood
Merely for some sleep.
A wild river of blood courses through my veins,
And all around you,
the people of the city wail with pain.
Like the loneliest sailor
Who dances shamelessly on a launch boat
At sunset,
I too mindlessly treat the shooting of guns around me
With disdain,
And instead, think only of you
As the giant of war drags its carriage behind me.
All the seas, the dates, and the palm trees,
all the waves and the ships,
join me in screaming for you, begging you to
not go.
My land, my army, my entire power is under your command.
The hearts of the soldiers of the south,
are all but humble slaves to a single glimpse,
to a single moment's gaze
of yours.
I have no eyes for the painters of the world,
Who cruelly paint human suffering blue.
In one hand, I carry the Ney-an-ban
and in the other a bowl of water,
so I may pour it behind you as you leave,
so maybe, when I play the Ney-an-Ban from the rooftops,
just maybe,
you may lift your eyes up to look at me
Oh, tall Konar tree of mine,
The song which accompanies my every song and word,
I cannot bear,
For even a second,
To see this catastrophe steal your visage from me.
