Alastair Crook is one of my absolute favourite guests. I hadn't heard of him a year ago, but since encountering him I've found his perspective so insightful, enriching, even nourishing in a way. There aren't many who appreciate the larger context of world events, we're so drowning in materialism it's almost unheard of for political commentary to even acknowledge the existence of anything metaphysical. Can't get enough of Alastair, truly.

I heard the best explanation of circumstances in the UK - A commentator said " We ( UK) are the 6th richest country in the world, why can't we clean up the towns and cities ?" The answer came as " That's not true ! LONDON is the 6th richest city - everywhere else is skint !" Alastair Crooke is correct when he says towns & cities in many parts of the UK are run down. I would add dirty, poverty stricken, depressed and destitute . Shop fronts boarded up, inner towns & cities left decepid for decades to rot - reminiscent of Victorian England . People can not get medical treatment with 7 million+ on the NHS waiting list, can't get dentist appointments, Councils declaring bankruptcy, the roads full of pot holes, schools which can not provide basic teaching materials to the kids, rampant knife crime with parents fearing their kids even walking to school in some places across the country - it IS broken Britain whilst we watch the Gov. Spaff Billions up the wall on ridiculous policies / projects - here and abroad 🤷‍♀️ make it make sense !!

Alexander, even with all his knowledge has always been a staunch advocate of the purity of Democracy and Western governments. For some reason he still feels that Western governments are incorruptible and can resolve themselves within the boundaries of the laws that govern them. Even when it's obvious these governments are controlled by forces that bypass laws and behave tyrannical and dictatorial making laws up as they go and disregarding the will of the people.
