Outlasted the other British icon, of the road, the Mini  and by a long chalk. I loved driving the air-portable version. Lighter and a bit faster, but even less leg room or so it felt.

They're gonna stop making the Defender?! What the fuck. If the G-Class is still going strong, why can't this too, considering it makes MUCH more sense!

As a Chelsea Tractor the Defender is out of it element but where the roads are rudimentary, or non-existent, it comes into its own, especially when covered with mud.

Always loved Defenders! Wish we had them in the U.S.. I know they don't NEED a high power engine, but I've never understood why they've always come saddled with such anemic engines (diesels- only'd have a diesel in one)... 120hp/265lb-ft?? Crazy too me (being an admittedly power crazy American) when you can get a diesel pick-up in the U.S. with as much as 440hp and 860lb-ft from the factory...

I have and old TDI200. It serviced several times in the past year. What the hell?? Land Rover is about love/hate...and I love It no matter what!

I Love the Defender, I've never owned one but I have driven a couple and it makes me quite sad that I may never have one under my own name...
