From tree day to all the suffering ordeal medicine endured by the dancers is a sacred sight to behold. I had the honor of tending the fire n serving two lodges with the inyan oyate. All Sundance comes from Mandan People. The Okipa was a reenactment if the beginning times. Speckled Eagle and lone man. The sioux sundance is a shorter mandan version and the songs are mandan translated into lakota or dakota. words from Frank Fools Crow.
