Hello @OsmoUK1 1:32 – When you say sand to a *maximum of 150 grit* do you mean start at eg 80, then 120, then 150...
...or do you mean that is the maximum _coarseness, _ so start at 150, then go up to 220 grit (for pine)?

I'm guessing the former – to ensure there is enough 'tooth' for the oil to fully adhere?

I moved into an apartment where previous owners hasnt maintained the surface adequately so there are a few damages from wet and burns. I have sanded it moderately as I cant sand away all the damages, and applied the first layer with a brush and cloth. The wood is pretty dark so it doesnt look that bad but the surface has more cracks and unevenness than a new surface. I used quite a lot of oil and really worked it into the surface but it looks quite matte still. Do you recommend any extra layers or any other differences in this situation?

Hello @OsmoUK1 1:32 – Newbie to sanding here. When you say "sand to a *maximum of 150 grit"* do you mean start at eg 80, then 120, then 150...

Can you tell me if this product is exothermic? I’ve read about a lot of linseed and Danish oil fires after the rags have been left to dry due to the exothermic reaction and the heat build up.

Experienced DIYer… using TopOil clear matte- first coat on sanded Boos maple butcher block island (80➡️120➡️150 ➡️220➡️240➡️320, vacuuming and tack cloth in between each grit). I applied first coat of TopOil clear matte using microfober applicator, circular thin coat then came back and rubbed into wood going with grain aka straight). No “wet” spots howevee after 15 hrs drying, it dried streaky! And felt gritty to the touch (instead of silk smooth like before application). What am I doing wrong? Ive sanded it all off again using 320. Ready tobget this right…. Fyi, dry conditions, 70+F degrees… product was well mixed before application.

Hi, can I apply the oil just with the Osmo Oil Finish Application Fleece? Or do I need a brush first? I already bought the Osmo oil 3058 Clear Satin. My mango tree dining table is already well sanded. I was thinking to apply it with the pad, without the pad holder, which I believe should be fine? Thanks in advance. 🙂

Can I use this Top Oil on an acacia wood tray? Or should I go with the Clear Thin Wax?

I applied the Osmo topsoil natural to my treated dark wooden breakfast bar and it has left it very pale. Do I have to sand this all the way back now?

really helpful thanks. I have a 9 year old oak worktop that I've always used Osmo on but its now going very orangey with age and I'd like it paler. Would it work if I sanded it and then used the White Osmo top ?

Hi guys I’ve a new oak counter. My plan is to apply Osmo 4006 Wood Protector Clear Treatment followed by 2 coats of Osmo 3068 Top Oil - Natural, is this the way to go? Just don’t want to get this wrong 😬 and thanks in advance.

I want to use osmo for my baby’s wooden toys, but they are normally painted. Can I still use osmo for that purpose? Which would you recommend?
