ABOUT DOUALA, CAMEROON

Douala is the largest city in Cameroon, the capital of Cameroon’s Littoral Region and the richest city in the whole CEMAC region of six countries. Home to Cameroon’s largest port and its major international airport, Douala International Airport, it is the commercial capital of the country. Consequently, it handles most of the country’s major exports, such as oil, cocoa and coffee, timber, metals and fruits. As of 2010 the city and its surrounding area had an estimated population that surpassed 3,000,000 inhabitants.

Cameroon and Nigeria have potentials in their economy. However, there are challenges that hinder their progress and most of them is security. Both countries have security problems as of this writing 6 sister were kidnapped in Nigeria and one of them was killed due to delay of ransom. Kidnapping in Nigeria occurs almost every week as long as these bandits got the opportunity aside from Boku haram problem. In Cameroon there are always violence due to political instability. There are always conflict between Anglophones and the Ftench speaking region which resulted to massacre of innocent people .

Douala ne change pas. C'est toujours les mêmes endroits que vous nous montrez. On veut du changement dans ce pays. Abidjan a bientôt 5 ponts, mais Douala n'a qu'un seul pont. Ce pays fait archi pitié.
