Nimsdai was born in Nepal and like his father and brothers before, he signed up to join the Gurkhas, where he would serve for six years. Nims then passed selection for the UK's special-forces and went on to serve another ten years with the Special Boat Service. After leaving the forces, Nims has gone on to become one of the world's greatest mountaineers, accumulating an ever-growing list of record-breaking climbs and rescue missions. After one such mission, Nims was awarded an MBE for outstanding achievement in high-altitude mountaineering. His Netflix documentary, '14 Peaks', follows his attempt to summit all 14 of the world's 'Death Zone' peaks in just seven months.

Nims is an exceptional human being. This man's drive is superhuman. To join the Ghurkas and to serve in the British Army is an accomplishment enough for any man.
But to then become the 1st ghurka to become a member of the Special Forces. And then climb all these mountains funding it himself is just staggering.
People throw this word around too often these days, but this man is a living legend.
