How to get more volume in silky wavy or curly hair

On some folks, very silky hair can struggle to hold curl and volume ! There are lots of different types of products that can add texture to hair for more hold or fullness. On medium or long hair, I love a good texture spray at the roots to add fullness and volume without adding frizz!!

Spray the texture spray generously at the roots, then flip your hair upside down and massage (or “juj”) your roots!

Pro tip for using texture spray at the roots:

✨Be careful to not ‘massage’ the top layer of hair along your part or your crown. We are trying to create constructive HIDDEN frizz on the underneath layers of your hair, not along your part line! Right above and behind your ears are a great places to start. After you’ve massaged these spots, get upright again and see how things look in the mirror!

✨For extra lift /volume, you can even pull your fingers and inch or so out from the root after massaging, similar to how someone might ‘pick out’ the roots. But if you want to maintain curl definition through the ends of your curls, always make sure to flatten your fingers back against your scalp and bring them back out of your hair the same way they went in!

Whereas I need the anti-body, lower-volume spray, lol! My coarse hair has more volume than curl. HER haircut is lovely btw.
