Paint it Black (Wednesday Addams / Westworld) – Cello

Had to join in on the fun and record a version of this Wednesday Addams cello arrangement of The Rolling Stones' "Paint it Black" from the Netflix series!

I started watching the show last week and I've been pleasantly surprised! Love all of the characters and how committed the actors are to their roles, the fun mystery of the plot, and just the right amount of camp. Also love to see the cello representation!

When I heard this piece in the first episode I immediately thought back to Ramin Djawadi's memorable arrangement of the same song from HBO's "Westworld," so I thought I'd throw in a bit of that suspenseful intro too!

Growing up I had a neighbor who would play cello and she was hired at the Opera. She would play the most beautiful pieces and it felt like such a treat when she played late in the evenings and us kids would fall asleep while listening to her play the cello. As an adult I can understand why she never got a noise complaint by any of the neighbors because we got to listen for free, what people paid lots of money to listen to.

People that don't play string instruments don't realize how hard it is to pull off those pizzicato, staccato and glissando while executing the piece with melodramatic and whole sounding notes. The emotions and the dynamics of your playing is just majestic. Bravo.

I am _astounded_ at how well you managed to cover the composition. From my understanding the original was significantly enhanced through studio technology. I think it’s a testament to your skill that you managed to reproduce the complex drama of the piece all through your own talent. Hats off to you and thank you for this breathtaking rendition. I love how flawless he was while playing. It was a pleasant surprise for Wednesday to be playing the Cello and Paint It Black by the rolling stones. A few of my family members (deceased and living) are fans of The rolling stones music.

Absolutely gorgeous! I was hoping you'd cover the song! Especially since there are some parts that are kind of impossible to play so I wanted to see your interpretation!
