Is it also ok to use plastic or rubber toys that are only kept for training? I had to do that as over this wet muddy winter all I had was mud ponds everywhere. Including my garden. So I went for things I could wipe the mud off. Now at 11 months and just started with drier weather I will start the proper dummies. Trouble is he just wants to find them and destroy them. Hold and Dead is given most of the time but you can see that drive to destroy.
Should I stop giving him chews?
Breeder recommended natural chews. So that’s what I’ve done.
But I think it may have encouraged chewing? What do you think about giving working spaniels chews?

What would you recommend for a springer cross miniature spaniel. Mother was a springer and father a miniature poodle. Seems to have strong prey drive for birds. He’s a family pet but I want him to have instinctual fun too. He’s 9 months old.
