In this Wasteland 3 Builds Guide I’m going to be showing you my Fantastic Firestarter Build which uses a Flamethrower and a Pistol to set enemies on fire, or kill them outright in one engulfing burst of flames. Wasteland 3 can be extremely overwhelming for new players, and can cause confusion for veterans alike. In this Build Guide I’ll explain just how to make this Build, including what Weapons to use, what Skills to take and which Perks to pick up. If you’ve been looking for a Flamethrower Build then check this one out

The Fantastic Firestarter uses a combination of Flamethrowers and a unique pistol called K-Cannon to set enemies on fire, or just outright kill them with Fire Damage. Fire Damage is especially deadly to organic enemies (Humans, Mutants, Animals), and deals 30% increased damage to these enemy types. On top of that we gain +15% Fire Damage from Disciple of Metal, +30% damage from Weird Science, +30% Damage from the Overcharge Perk, and +25% Fire Damage from the Heating Element Perk, for an extra +100% Damage on top of that bonus! What more could you want?

Dude, you are the man. Thanks for putting all these build ideas out. My buddies and I have been utilizing your videos and site for 2ish years now for divinity and now wasteland. Much appreciated.

Hey Fex, awesome videos as always! I discovered a very easy way to get massive amounts of money in the game that might be of use to some or might be interesting topic to make a video about. Get any ranger with barter 7, take the barter 7 perk, scrap all your weapons for scrap and save the game. Then, sell your scrap. You have a 5% chance that it sells for 50x its regular value. Selling 3000 scrap made me 150000 dollars instantly, enough to buy out pretty much all the shops inventory in an entire city and have lots of money to spare. The funny part about this is that after selling your scrap, you can buy back all the scrap you just sold for the regular, very cheap price. Then you can repeat for infinite money, if you desire and somehow want even more money. I assume that with infinite cash and consumables/deployables, even supreme jerk difficulty will be somewhat easy.

Hello!! I'm getting this game tomorrow and I'm very excited. Would love to see more builds! 🙏

I would swap awareness with STR...you lose some damage, but you gain hp needed to play on higher diff. Else you will get oneshoted every fight.

Since you love to exploit "Draw", here's an idea, even if it's a bit cheesy: for the weapons that have more than one shot, during the fight, just pop open the inventory and un-equip and re-equip the weapon in question. It's going to be fully unloaded now, so you will have to reload. Now picture that with any weapon with a really low reload AP cost and then add the attachment that lowers the AP cost of reloading. It's very finicky, since you will have to constantly open up the inventory and take the weapon off and the put it back on - but that dmg output though :))).
One more thing about these builds - they are all good and nice, got some really good ideas out of them, but the goal here is to make a good squad of 4 + 2 and balance out the skills to always be up to the challenge, or at least for the important moments. Sure, you can complete the game with good fighting skills, but is that what you really want? Chose to go against the Patriarch on my first playthrough, but as I suspected, Angela has a really stupid plan for the future of Colorado. Going on my second serious one now, hoping to get a better result by not torching everything :D.

Thank you for the tips and keep them coming! :)

4:48 don't use wide spread perk! You gain some firing arc but lose a huge amount of range.

would this work on a leadership build by chance?

Could you please do a build guide for an entire squad that complements each other. Same for Divinity original Sins as well would be so sweet! I need yo get back into that game :) (couldn't decide on build after first island ages ago and never came back to it lol)

Does Overcharge kill the character when it triggers? Seems like bad design as it will force a reload for almost all players thereby making it a simple dmg boost with inconvenience as an occasional downside. Better if it just does significant damage instead and/or render the weapon unusable until repaired.

Is there a special Flamethrower the quickfire mag works on? Because every Flamethrower I have, doesn't have a magazine weapon mod slot.
Only slots for scope, under barrel, and scope.
I've tried:
Incinerator
Purifier
Scourer
Army Flamethrower
Flammenwerfer

None of them have a magazine mod slot for the quickfire mag.

Was it a "bug" that has since been patched out?
