The cuts to the dead world in red are representative of the dangers of choosing self-indulgence over reality. The red world is barren and dead, but the literal focus of the frame is on the false reality of the ego which ignores it. It’s saying don’t forsake reality in blind pursuit of delusions of grandeur (narcissism) as it’s not real and you’ll never make the change you want to see in the world that way.

I am a zookeeper in chicago and I regularly feed the hippos day old sausages so they have a taste of their home. I put strings on the sausages and swing them around the hippos they get so mad at me and scream but it's an obsession sometimes the hippos try and break out of their cages but I keep swinging those hotdogs in wide circles over their heads. Luckily my boss doesn't know I do this or my cowork

FYI this attitude that emotional pursuits are useless is known as unreflective instrumentalism. The idea that jobs that aren't in service of absolute needs like food and technology aren't important, that expression of our feelings isn't useful is reductive and speaks to our culture's lack of concern for the fullness of lived experience. When you convince people that these aspects of life are trivial weak pursuits, you can more easily disregard the full emotional well being of people and exploit them easier.
I'm not saying poetry or the arts are urgent and completely vital, or that they are just as important, I'm saying they are under looked and disregarding them is not only putting aside the fullness of humanity, but the legitimacy of personal feelings.
Now watch someone reply to me with a similar reductive attitude.
