I have a ‘14 F350 that I did have a cp4 failure on a few years ago. I’ll be doing a screen conversion soon. I bought it new and have about 140, 000 miles on it of hard towing. I’ve made several upgrades including Mishimoto radiators. However I haven’t touched the turbo and have had no issues. I have not deleted mine in anyway due to all the legal issues I didn’t feel like pissing with. Overall I’ve been very happy with the truck. Mine has been mostly trouble free but it’s also been extremely well maintained.

I want a diesel so bad but every time I see these videos or a friend has problems I’m glad to have a 5.0 where everything is pretty easy to get to

I have a 2011 F350 with over 350, 000 miles. It was deleted at 100, 000. Still has original turbo and cp4. Still running strong!

I had a lift pump failure on my 2013 power stroke. I replaced it and swapped the CP4 to a DCR pump and also a sinister diesel charge pipe. Feel much better about the truck now she runs great.

I’ve got a 5.0 F150 but in my future I’m looking at a 6.7 Powerstroke for a pulling truck. This video helped a great deal.

I 3D printed an external catch can for my CCV reroute kit and it works great. Park my 2017 Lariat with 264k on my driveway pavers with no worries. I also replaced upper/ lower oil pan, valve covers, rear and front main seals all in one shot about 20k ago (along with a tranny rebuild). Also get very good fuel mileage.

Did you mention the vacuum pump bolts that are loose from the factory? I had two out of the four finger tight on mine. Took one bolt out at a time and used loctite. Fixed my leak

Nice video!! I agree these trucks are pain in the rear but I do love it. When I hit 40 I’m dumping mine and going back to a gasser. Getting of working on my vehicles. Also wear is that hole that you blew out for hvac near the blower motor and the other outdoor hole at?

Very good video. I am shopping for one, but taking my time. Your video provides some great guidance of what to look for. Thank you for sharing!

I have a 2014, no problems with my truck. I'll agree with you on the fuel mileage though.

Ford should have recalled all of those trucks with the CP4 fuel pumps.... just like other companies like dodge did ....and certain years used these faulty pumps ....do your research before you buy not just a Ford thing guys

FYI they fixed all issues on the 15 and up

And if your oil pan was leaking on the lower one, that’s an easy fix the upper one now that’s the one that you have to remove your transmission

The Oil Pan and any Seal will most likely be caused by the CCV Filter/Catch-Can. You can delete this item with an aftermarket Internal Catch-Can or the OEM CVV part that removes the ‘filter’, however, you are still forcing oil soaked air into your turbo & intake system filling the intake system with carbon soot which can degrade oil, causing internal part damage with early failures. Just delete the CCV Filter with an aftermarket Internal Catch-Can

Used trucks have issues if the original owners don’t take care of them. There’s no truck better than any other truck. If you are a Chevy fan stick with a Chevy. Ford stay with a Ford. Nothing worse than a Chevy fanatic driving a Ford or Dodge or anything else!

And you got it wrong about the CCV box the CCV box on the 11 through 16 are non-serviceable. You don’t have no filters in them. It’s the 17 and up that have it the 17th through 20s I believe or 19 and then they fix that and went back to the old style like the ones from 11 to 16 from like the 20s and up.

I have a 2011 F-250 6.7 powerstroke completely stock. I'm getting 20-21 miles per gallon. Granted I live in Florida

Great video! I have a 2013 as well with a ton of SPE parts love their stuff. All the items you mentioned are great topics regarding the 2011-2014. Consider the coolant reroute as well from SPE, helps eliminate the factory connections that end up leaking. Also keep an eye out for the coolant line on the turbo as well as the gaskets on the thermostat housing that go between the cylinder heads.
Check rockauto for oil and fuel filters I get my fuel filters for like $60 motorcraft and oil and oil filter motorcraft as well usually runs about $70usd

The 11 through 12 dual compressor turbos were the ones to stay away from because they had the ceramic ball bearing the 13 to 14 are fine 15s are better because it’s a bigger turbo and it’s a single but I have 14 and I got 200 K on my had zero problems nock on wood lol
