Finally, a useful dual-screen laptop

Asus’s Zenbook Pro Duo 14 is a 14-inch portable laptop with not one, but two high-resolution, high refresh rate touchscreens. At $2,000, that second screen won’t be worth everyone’s money – but it does come in handy. Here’s a rundown of my typical day as a dual-screen laptop user.

0:00 Intro
0:35 Past ScreenPads
1:20 What’s new?
2:00 Early morning (Slack & Spotify)
2:54 Keyboard Gripes
3:12 Screen Wobble
4:15 Touchpad Mode
5:08 Verge Team Impressions
5:56 Task Groups
6:35 Quick Swap
6:50 Battery Life
7:25 Gaming
8:10 Conclusion

What would you use the second screen for?

Nah. I'm waiting out for three screens.

7:48 That's how all fullscreen games works. Even on desktops with more screens. The solution is to enable Borderless mode which is basicly window mode without borders

As a web developer and not a fan of multiple monitor setups, I can see this being super useful for having terminals running at the bottom. That said, when of the first things I imagined being a problem was the imbalance of the keyboard position and the tiny track pad.

The Duo Pro makes me not want to use a single screen laptop anymore. As a college instructor I use the second screen extensively when giving online classes.. and during assignment grading I use the main screen to view the students' work while viewing the grading excel sheet and recording grades on the second screen. I hope Asus continues to make them 🙏

The 2nd screen is really nice for creatives. I use the bottom for my mixing track in my music production. Really nice workflow.

A buddy of mine uses it for his video production for timelines.

For casuals it may be overkill and not find a ton of use but to each their own.

They could've easily give it 3060 or even 3070 at this price point.

For software developers, that's where the command line/terminal app would go or the browser inspector panel 💡

I always find it hard to believe all these tech reviewers are using their Smart Pen for basic scrolling

Asus is by far the most innovative laptop builder currently. Really interested in that ROG Flow X16.

That's why a lot of games have borderless window mode now

I have the Asus ZenBook Duo 2021 and I it. I usually use the second screen to have WhatsApp, the file browser, reference documents or the timeline open when using Premiere Pro or After Effects. Yes, the main screen wobbles when I want to draw on it and the pen isn't as precise, but it works. For high precision work I use my Wacom.
Ah, when there are soccer games streaming online, I can watch multiple games at once.

I love how at 3:45 we see the script of exactly what you're speaking - mentioning that Spotify was still on the ScreenPad - when it very obviously wasn't. :-D (It was by the time you said the line, of course.)

to help with the display wobble they could design a bottom panel similar to those in tablets that pops out from the back for added stability. learn from tablet design how this is solved and figure it i to the design.
for handrest and adding stability while laying on the couch they could add a thin foldout palm rest panel that folds out from under the keyboard.
the extra display above they keyboard should be designed with more viewing angles.
an alternative design they could do is make the main display a detachable tablet with that rear popup stand - similar to brydge for the iPads, and have that keyboard and rectangle display with more viewing angles the primary computer. both combine to that form factor. so you have 2 devices in 1.
