Inspirational my man. Well done. Very well done. I'll be asking a lot of questions in the next few months. :)

Just starting on my own journey here for an A-10 sim. Will be years in the making, but I'm excited to combine all of the hobbies I have had over the years into this huge project. And learn a million new skills too!

Awesome stuff, that looks like tons of work! I’d love to give it a test flight some day.

Great setup! Unfortunately don't have the spare dollars for all those 'simgear' panels, so are building a VR 'touch' instrument panel were encoders/switches/controls are placed on plywood panels in the position were they are in the real aircraft. This is so you can just reach out and adjust them without the immersion breaking reaching for a mouse. Working great so far. All the best.

Great vid but you left out a step: get a second mortgage to pay for it all.

Fortunately, for me, I want one for space sims. So I don't have to be precise with measuring tape and calipers to get a 1:1 reproduction, I can go in whatever direction feels more comfortable.

Unfortunately for me, I want one for space sims, so there's nothing I can measure and use as a baseline to get started with.

I can, however, find a very comfortable(and hopefully affordable) seat from a car/truck at a scrap yard, and build around that. When I finally get to a place with enough room for this, I hope to find one that has built in heated seats(or just get one of the covers that plugs into an accessory socket) for added bling.

I'd like to have that on a hydraulic platform for full motion...preferably one that can go inverted in any direction.

step 0: get a decent job or a loan or a credit card with at least $20k so you can afford to build proper sim ;-)
