We have skill players all over the field. O-line is a work in progress. The two question marks is qb and play calling. Defense is solid as you can get.

Because Kirk Campbell likes traditional qb’s more than mobile ones. JJ was mobile but his best ability was passing. Kirk probably doesn’t like that Orji is run first. But Davis locks onto his one read and if it isn’t there, he panics. Orji absolutely should have completed the 2nd pass, not absolving him of blame, but you can’t expect him to establish a rhythm with one pass on the 1st drive and only one other in the 3rd quarter isn’t a recipe for success. I look at this like Bama last year. If people said after the USF game that Jalen Milroe shouldn’t start, it wouldn’t have been that crazy. But in hindsight, look what Milroe became. Orji needs that chance. Davis was definitely hindered by the drops but he doesn’t do himself any favors by locking onto his first read and absolutely awful footwork. Dude never steps into his throws. I don’t dislike Davis, but Orji has the better upside. We went through this with Cade and JJ. Let’s not fumble fuck around and let’s get the best players on the field. RPO playbook with Orji, Kalel as rb1, Dono in the slot or at rb on 3rd downs, get the ball in the hands of Loveland and Kline, otherwise run the ball with Mullings or Orji. This isn’t the NFL. You don’t need to over complicate things.
