I'm laterally waiting for the day when you just start making entire miniatures out of sprues somehow.
"Here's my sprue ork army:
The vehicles are sprues.
The bases are sprues.

Video idea for you - make a big project again like your ork tank solely from sprues and then give it to a “painter” youtuber to see how professional they can make it look!

I think for a lot of these 'wooden' pieces, you could lightly etch with a hobby knife to give it some lines like wood texture, which would make the contrast paint look more convincing. Great ideas!

I may have mentioned this before in a previous comment, but I've reworked an old crosscut shredder, one that is made to cut up credit cards and old CD/DVD materials. I modified the entry point to make it a bit wider so that the sprue sections will fit through the opening.
This allows me to chip up sections of sprue much faster for other uses and saves my hands the trouble of cutting them up manually. It creates a relatively even material for the sprues to be used as rubble, melted down in acetone, or melted into a silicone mold.
With some PVA glue (or other binder), it can be pressed into a form to make rough pieces of flooring or walls. Those can be left rough or sanded smooth. It really does speed up the entire process.

Melting and re-molding sprues with acetone is pretty genius. Never would have thought of that.

As much as contrasts paints are easy and look good, I reckon you would be pretty good with basecoats, washes and layers

You may have mentioned this in one of these but they may be useful for broken walls, like if you have a stone brick wall that has a big hole in one side you can have sprue wooden framework that’s popping out (and probably broken)
