My father used these machines for 45 years, his entire career as a machinist. He always told me about them and the set-ups he was doing at work. So cool.

I am a screw machine operator and we work with acme on parts for ar15s. These machines are so much fun to run. Never a boring day. I love my job. Acme is a great company.

I set up and operated these machines for years back in the day, I danced for joy when I got onto CNC’s. That said multis cannot be beaten on cycle times even now - the dirty smelly noisy things that they are! 😂👍

I worked at black and decker hampstead md. Last job there ran 4 machines making chop saw gears. Ran everything from mitsubishi acme gridley, to conematic wickman with pick off at cut off position. We had 52 multi spindles till early 1980's. All had a cost tag on front of machine. Some of the big ones they bought in 70's were well over quarter million. Best job on factory floor

I ran screw machines from 1980 till 1990. Acmes, Conomatics, New Britians and a couple other brands I can't even remember. Fafnir Bearing and then Saginaw division of GM. Transferred to Saturn in 1990. A coworker asked me if Saturn had screw machines amd I said "I hope not", lol.

We had a 2" capacity one. The floor would shake when it indexed. It had a "property of US Gov." ID tag from I think WWII on it. That was in the mid 80's. Lone gone now. Euro Turns And Index machines now.

I visited some Connecticut screw machine factories back in the 1960s and could not believe the working conditions with noise, heat and the air full of sprayed oil ... I trust conditions are better today with air conditioning and protective clothing or respirators!?

Trabalhei muito com esse tipo de máquina, mecanismo incrível, sua preparação é bem simples, mas exige muito conhecimento, parabéns pelo vídeo
