Fast easy way to tell an air conditioner capacitor is bad.

if your air conditioner is not working, and you find the run capacitor is swelled up like this or not as bad as thus, it is bad and needs to be replaced.

Why does it swell tho? What causes it? Bad fan? Not enough refrigerant? Let me know please. I changed mine out but common. Sence tells me it's swollen for a reason...??

Thanks! I was wondering why my AC was randomly powering on and off, i looked inside and sure enough the capacitor had electrolyte oozing out and it was bloated.

Yes sirie that's bad it saved itself from popping by top changing shape and disconnecting sh/b open and all the farads escaped
