Good stuff Umar - I'm from Maine originally, but became Muslim while living in Jerusalem, getting a MA in Experimental Music at Hebrew University, and directing the Edward Said Conservatory in East Jerusalem at the same time. I used to play at jam sessions in this area pretty frequently. Now I'm more of a traditional Muslim. Thought your interview on Sultans and Sneakers was interesting even if I didn't agree with all of your points. Although, since I had lived in this area for a few years and was immersed in the situation, I recognized all of your ideas. Allahuma Barik Feek.
