Buoyancy Effector 2D helps create buoyancy forces. There are various properties of Buoyancy Effector 2D. The first two properties are related to the collision matrix. These properties help us set the collision settings or the collisions that can happen with different layers. If kept unchecked in Buoyancy Effector 2D then the global collision matrix will be taken as a reference. The next property of the Buoyancy Effector 2D is the density. The density setting is related with the amount of density the water can hold. Surface level property of the Buoyancy effector 2D decides exactly where the forces of buoyancy will apply. By default the Buoyancy Forces apply in the middle of the gameobject.

The next property relates to the amount of drag that the gameobject will face once it gets under water. The linear drag decides how much stoppage will be applied to the linear movement of the gameobject. Angular drag controls the amount of rotation on the gameobject.Flow Angle is the direction of the flow of the water.Flow magnitude is the amount of force applied to move in the direction set in the Flow Angle property.Flow Variation is the variation in the magnitude that is set in the flow magnitude property.

Buoyancy Effector 2D is very important to understand in order to make a good game in Unity. Unity 2D has various types of effects that if one knows properly then one can make a nice 2D game. People often ask as to how to make a 2d game in Unity. But if they properly follow all the basic tutorials then making a 2d platformer type of a game becomes relatively easy. Along with Unity Rigidbody if all the joints are well understood, then making a game won't be that difficult. If the Unity Collider is also learnt then one will know of the physics forces. All these are applied to a Unity sprite. If you want to make a Unity 2D game then knowing the basics is very important.

Unity Physics is very useful to understand if you want to make a budding career in game programming. In this Unity 2d tutorial i give a little explanation of the Buoyancy Effector 2D. Using Unity's 2d game engine, making a simple Unity game won't be that difficult. Buoyancy effector 2D is used to give buoyancy forces that make any gameobject float or sink in the water. In this Unity Physics tutorial you will learn everything related to Buoyancy Effector 2D. One should watch any Unity tutorial in order to start. This would be good for indie game development. You can make nice games using Point Force 2D.
