Harford County Sheriff questions Senator's trip to El Salvador

A Maryland senator's efforts to bring back Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a deportee from El Salvador, have sparked a heated debate with local law enforcement and victims' families.

"Bring Kilmar home. So he can be afforded his rights under the Constitution. That’s what this is about," said Senator Chris Van Hollen.

If the Sheriff is ready to suspend due process based on "vibes" and what he heard on the news, rather than what's determined by a court, then he shouldn't be enforcing the law.

Justice matters. Allegations, if true, will stand up in a court. This is about due process of the law, which protects us all. Check the constitution before airing an unchallenged opinion against it. Responsibility is on our media to educate and show the actual words of it, when an "opinion" carries no weight. Perhaps when sharing opinions, the elected sheriff should not appear in uniform. Especially when his opinion is not based on the actual law. Check the Supreme Court 9-0 ruling to return this detainee. This is the opinion that matters.

Law enforcement must also follow the law. This sheriff seems to have only the barest grasp of the concepts of probable cause and due process.
