Been wearing this watch for about 2 months now and it’s consistently been about +0.2 seconds a day. Very happy with the performance, looks… pretty much everything! Highly recommend!

I have this and it's the best Seiko layout I've ever had. You have the most awesome collection and taste and has the best sense about watches. Looking forward to your future uploads. More power to you.

This is simply a superb daily wearer, I have over the years enjoyed many good watches including two seamasters, a planet ocean, Tudor chronograph, 39mm Explorer and XL Santos de Cartier which is my current dressy sports watch.
Since I bought the 453 nearly two months ago, the Cartier has been permanently relegated to the winder. The Seiko is perfectly proportioned for my wrist size and is all day comfortable to wear. I like the sleekness of the skin diver style case, and with the date at 4.30 it looks to all intents like a no date as the date window is tiny and the disc is black underneath.
Other positives are the legibility, excellent lume and the fact it's a discreet wear and won't attract much attention. I have tried it on the Zuludiver waffle strap which is excellent but the watch is now back on the bracelet. Even the much criticised bracelet is actually very good with a nice drape and doesn't pinch any skin or hair. The clasp could be better, but it still feels absolutely secure, which is important.
Mine is running just a few seconds a day out, I don't even bother checking anymore as the accuracy is more than acceptable for a watch of this price. I am now looking at buying another Seiko, probably a Willard style case with an 8L35 movement which appears to be near GS quality. The Cartier will in all liklihood get sold in the very near future as its getting absolutely zero wear time.

I own the 455. Very pleased with it. Runs within COSC spec. Wears like a dream, even better than my bb58, on a small wrist.

My spb453 (bought in June) runs -2sec per day. The best performing Seiko movement I own.

I love the date window. It disappears unless I'm purposefully looking for the date.

Great release from Seiko, and definitely an upgrade

I bought one about a month ago and time keeping is ok at +5 sec a day - I had a Rolex Sea Dwelleller and in all the time I had it, it never bettered +8 sec a day even after Rolex service, so I 'm quite pleased with this watch

I own the SPB143 and thinking about getting this one to replace it. It's what I wanted the SPB143 to be: a classic Seiko diver with black dial that goes with everything, with a more ergonomic clasp and bracelet and smaller dimensions. Granted, it's a rather incremental improvement, but probably still noticeable. I would have LOVED it in a 39mm and slightly slimmer case. And no diving extension, by far my main gripe with the otherwise decent bracelet.
I think the DIA shield coating is underrated, my SPB143 looks mint after 3 years of daily wear and I haven't been babying this watch at all.

Enjoy yours!

They really gotta improve the buckle on the bracelet at this price point. Still, very nice watch but not enough to make me want to get rid of my 143.

I have this watch but in blue, and I had the previous version, which I loved- but ultimately sold. This one, is just about perfect either way the exception of the clasp- I don’t really even care it’s not milled- but a couple more micro adjustments and loose the bloody useless divers extension.

Also, really would be a game changer if they ever offered their take on a tool-less micro argument mechanism, but Seiko has never really listened to their customers on their opinions regarding overall bracelet quality

The bezel insert is made of steel with PVD treatment, I asked Seiko directly for confirmation. As they say on their website it is entirely made of steel. 😉

I am not 100% sure it was the exact one, but my father gave me one that looked like that when I was in highschool and it was the best wristwatch I've ever had, haven't been able to find one that could take its place after mine got destroyed in an accident
