This works for wait lists too! Went to a T-50 undergrad school in the US, and I was finally admitted by using a very similar strategy

I didn't get into my dream school the first time around. So I went to a different college did well enough to get a couple of awards. Then apply for the spring semester of the following year and got in. I called after my rejection letter to see what things I could do to better my chances. They told me I just needed to pull up my GPA because everything else was perfect.

This is the perfect way how to piss off those people that process the emails.

As someone who works in the admissions office of a university, I just want to say that this does absolutely nothing. We will reply and thank you for reaching out and let you know that we will be back in touch as soon as possible. But it does absolutely nothing to up your chances. Make sure you have an amazing personal statement, a great gpa, and high test scores. Those are the things that matter most. They also matter far more than LOR just fyi.

I see you’ve deleted the “6-pages paper in 1h” short… I get why, but I think you should address the issue with your mistake, instead of just deleting. This is a matter of academic honest behaviour, and for someone wanting (and who will probably succeed in getting) an academic career, it’s VITAL…

"I got accepted into every ivy league" has gotta be the biggest school flex you can give.

love the email 1 to 2 being weeks apart. Can show you got the determination to “fix” whatever got you denied

Generally, I don't recommend that people do more than 1 ED. Often, colleges can check with each other and if they find out that you applied ED more than once they feel betrayed and it sort of burns a bridge with them.

the best strategy is to actually have competing offers. tell them they’re your first choice but [insert another ivey] is pressing you with an exploding offer. ask them to expedite the decision.

This is exactly how my boomer dad thinks getting into Ivy League works. lmao

Nah. I don't have a dream school. As long as one of the schools meets my requirements, then I don't know care if it's expensive or cheap.
