Ahhh my Sunday morning treat, a journey with you two to lovely places I probably will never get a chance to see unless I win the lottery lol. I love it when heritage rail lines and steam engines are restored to provide us all with such lovely trips. As I type this a heritage steam train is parked over the road at our local station, it comes up each May bringing the sleeper carriages from days past and travellers come up from Melbourne and stay the night to see the silo art trail in the area. One day I hope to go down to Melbourne and come home on it. As usual thanks for a great start to my day! 🙂

Just loved the train as well as the history behind it. It's such a grand example of what can be done by visionaries. I loved the photos of before the project was started and today, what an undertaking, but with breathtaking results. The engines and cars are some of the most charming ones I have ever seen, as were the stations! The video of the side of the car, the countryside and the steam blowing into the camera was wonderful. Ah, memories of my youth!
We used to go on holiday there, as my grandparents lived there and it made for cheap accommodation.
I have vague recollection of going on one of the last steam trains to Wareham and back.
Later, we used to walk on the disused track to get to town.
A while back, I travelled on the restored railway to Corfe. A full circle of holidays over a few decades.
