I really like the whole direction they're taking gp story wise. The music reflects his supposed "death" and coming back harder and stronger rather fittingly. Its essentially the same melody and rhythm, but the buildup is different. Like the choir/group singers come in rather early in the first version of the song, signifying his whole "captain" stance and the strong leadership he can rabble up; whilst this version has only the melody playing, and overall having a more quiet tone and start, like the silence of the someone who's gone and seemingly disappeared into the then he re-emerges, just in tandem with the choir slowly coming back towards the end, re-establishing his place and seeking out to prove once and for all who's king. This older champion style is very cool, now we just get progressively more edgy males and progressively more anime females. Anime girls are great and all, but we need some of this too. Jhin, GP, Illaoi...

When I hear this song I just imagine how Captain Gangplank, the Saltwater Scourge walks off of his ship while every pub in Bilgewater shakes with the sound of drums and violins, the song echoes through Runeterra and every soul knows, the Captain’s back home.

Was the best event from the time on i knew League. It was a sudden burst of creativity in the studios of LoL. we need this once more.
