Award-winning teacher and school turnaround expert Jason Martin believes that the zip code in which a child was born should not determine whether she has access to science, technology, engineering, art, and math education. But yet, this is often the case. Jason lays out how he is changing this one school at a time in Georgia and how the concept can be adapted to other states and countries.

Jason Martin is founder and executive director of nonprofit
Community Guild that has created STE(A)M Truck, a mobile makerspace. Launched in 2014, the program reaches
more than 4,000 elementary and middle school students across the state each year. It has been featured on CNN, WABE 90.1 FM
and at the SXSWedu conference. STE(A)M Truck was awarded the Center for Civic Innovation’s Civic Impact Award in 2015.

Jason holds degrees from Columbia and Rutgers universities. He began working in public education after serving as a Teach

The idea of taking the classroom to students is such a simple one but hard to implement in this country. So glad that Jason Martin is taking his mobile STEAMTruck to schools in under-served areas!
