For most cardboard, I use a 12V multitool with a carpetcutter blade. It outperforms the low-rpm round blade of a dedicated 12V multicutter. (I've owned both.) For thick cardboard, I use my Makita CXT 12V 3-3/4-inch circular saw with a high-toothcount blade.
