The actress that plays Phobie is a great actress. It's a shame that the writers did her dirty. I suggest watching Gifted. She was eleven at the time and she knocked it out of the park.

You hit it on the head. Why is pheobe supposed to be the main character when it comes to ghostbusters? The original film had characters that interacted. There was never a main character in ghostbusters.

Phobie interaction with the ghost girl was so awkward like they needed to read off the script just to talk to each other

She was channeling that Ant-ifa girl from quantum verse, just “wow, do you have to be that …bad?”

So Phobe worked in first movie because she was the awkward genius granddaughter of Egon. Here shes just a bratty, angsty teen and they completely forgot the genius part until forcefully shoving it into a deus ex machina moment. And then for some reason the smallest one gets the special pack AND IMMEDIATELY WANDERS OFF WITH IT.

Also grooming ghost lady filled me with rage every time she appeared on screen. She broke every single established rule of ghosts in the series and was absolutely insufferable to me.

The age gap really felt messed up. The Ghost Girl looked like an adult, while Pheobe looked 15.

Really creepy Hollywood.

The young age of Phoebe and the ghost felt very groomy to me and my friends.

Also it really irked me that neither of the movies established couples really acted like couples. This is in spite of the fact that one of the movies sub plots is LITERALLY the kids getting used to Gary as a step dad.

Their biggest mistake was trying to make it Stranger Things 2.0 instead of a genuine attempt to recapture the "Abbott and Costello monster movie" vibes of the original.

Also, the older Brother was useless; what was his purpose? His goal in the first movie was to drive, and his goal in the second movie was also to drive! Give him something else to do besides wanting to drive a car. Also why was Phoebe the only one that used the Proton Back before the climax of the film. Like Everyone else was forbidden to be seen with one except for her. Her brother is like 18. Most normal Teenage boy's ambition, besides driving, is to shoot big, powerful weapons. This is why it's so strange that his younger sister was the only one excited to shoot a proton pack, and none of the boys wanted to shoot one.

Am I the only one who is mad how Podcast is sidelined? Like phobe and him had a really good dynamic in Afterlife but here it was like they almost had no connection. Both characters had clearly grown up some yet you never get to see a new dynamic or any dynamic at all really.

Saw it yesterday. Fuck this movie. I loved the adorkable phoebe in the previous movie. Hate her in this one.
