My friggin math teacher for 3 years did the same thing (I go to a private school so I had the same math teacher for a couple years). She was always writing on the board and saying a bunch of knowledge crap then not restating it. I didn’t do well in that class...

I mentally skipped every class i could. LOVED it. I was basically homeschooled. My parents helped me with math aznd the rest was mainly reading and answering worthless questions. I think of adopting a child, or multiple, and the basics are required, but they will learn what they WANT, other than that.

I’m in algebra 2 right now (as a sophomore) and I can completely relate to being good at math but not liking it. I mean let’s be honest, that’s pretty much how everyone feels about math whether they’re good at it or not. Ironically, we also have this kid in that class who will just discreetly leave and then come back like half an hour later and I guess the teacher just hasn’t noticed this pattern yet even though he’s been doing it for the whole semester.

On the first day of my Sophomore year my chemistry teacher noticed that we were not really paying attention and asked the class what he should do to get our attention. Somewhere along the line lighting the table on fire was mentioned so he asked if thats what he should do. The majority vote said yes and he pulled out a jug of flammable alcohol, asked the students to move away from the table (the top of it is fire proof bty) pored it onto the table, and lit it with a lighter. He also took the time to explain how it works (ie: the condensation and combustion) and there was water left in its place. No one got hurt which is good

All in all it was a very interesting first day
