Of all the enemy reimaginings in the game, I'd say this one is my absolute favorite.

I know I'm three years late but... if you are having troubles with this thing, use all of your "Fire Energy" and mix it with a Phoenix Down so you can create a devastating spell that you'll use like 3 times maximum, dealing over 9, 999 damage with a single hit (and, considering that the Zu's weak to fire...).

Carry a shitton of potions if you must, just don't engage much in battle with the Zu (considering that's level 67 and that it hits like a truck), keep your distance, use Lux Itineris in order to get on top of the arena, recover a bit of HP and MP and deliver some deadly blows with Lux Impetus (with which you can break its legs temporarily).

And to conclude, once your fire spell has been recharged, use it again, dealing another 9, 999 damage and (possibly) leaving it on a vulnerable state (in said case, you should do wombo combos along your companions) or you may even finish it off already.

Overall, the fight was cool, the creature's design was unique and let's mention how awesome the soundtrack is as well, but, like I said before, if you're having troubles with this guy, come back later as a higher level character (actually, I did this quest when I was level 72), prepare yourself with powerful weapons, useful rings, a shitton of potions (just in case), a couple of Phoenix Downs and your most powerful Fire Spell, you'll see, the fight will be over in a matter of minutes.

Edit; Also, you can make some ridiculously OP spells that can deal over like 99, 999 damage with certain items, I don't remember which specifically (I think it was Zu's peak among others IIRC), but, unless you want to make the game a pushover, I don't recommend you to use them (along with Ragnarok).

I don't know about you guys, but I resorted not to use armiger, or summon, or end game weapons, or ridiculous fire magic, and fought it with average weapons ...

And It was an epic battle .. when the Zu dives down at supersonic speed at Noctis gave me chills

First time Prompto grabbed Noct's leg, I was like "What, you already know how many L's you're gonna take in this fight so you want to bring me with you?"

I just fought this boss at level 69 and finished it in literally 15 seconds after spawning it after the cut scene lol. Tri elemental magic put it into vulnerable and I just Armiger to victory haha
