Insta360 X3 Mic Invisible Adapter - Rode vs DJI vs Hollyland - Which is best

This is a test to see how the Rode, DJI and Hollyland mics sound as well as how they operate with the Insta360 X3 Cold shoe adapter.

It is made for the Rode Wireless go mics, but I tried it out with the DJI and Hollyland as well.

Great video and timing-- I just received my x3, and have the Hollyland on the way. Really appreciate it!

Great video
My hollyland mics don’t sync words and lips correctly with my x3.

Great review. I was searching for someone checking out the new Hollyland Lark M2 (writing in Jan 2024) camera receiver but your point on the circular slip prevention holes on the Insta360 cold shoe was a very interesting point. Thanks

Time to add the Comica Vimo C into the mix. I had just received my Hollyland when the new Vimo C hit the market. Checked out some initial reviews then ordered it and returned the Hollyland. Comica has really hit a home run with the Vimo C. I 3D printed a receiver adapter for the X3 and wow...what a great setup!

This was super helpful thanks, my X3 arrives next week & took the decision (I have the Hollyland Lark M1 too) to go with the cold shoe rather than the rode adapter….really hoping it won’t show up on the stitch line! Thanks again

Hi there, lovely very interesting video. Thank you so much for the contributions and dedication. What mic moto-loggers use with an insta 360x3 that is waterproof and it’s easy to connect once you go back to the motorbike( meaning it will connect via Bluetooth directly without touching anything)?.
Very important is to say bikers use thick gloves and they want to know when they decide to record( as they have the microphone inside the helmet in order to avoid the wind noise as much as possible) a mic that is easy to touch and start recording unless that has voice command( like AirPods-which seems a bit of a issue every single time you go back to the bike and you have to connected to the X3).
Thank you for your time

Thanks for the video. Which model of hollyland are you using? You didn't mention the model. Thanks

Another question: are you editing the footage with the desktop Insta360 Studio? Or on the phone? The subtle movements/panning looks so natural and great, I'm wondering if you're editing in "hand held" mode using the phone. Thanks!

Hello quick question does the hollyland type C can't connect straight to the insta 360 x3 type C port?
Like my phone?

Or do i have to get the trs to a trrs cable

Great video! Wound up buying the Hollyland Lark M1. Nice little mics! One thing I am having an issue with, is when I output from the app (desktop or phone) it seems to only output in Mono. Any thoughts? Thanks!

So if have a dongle would i still have to buy a mic adaptor. Also if i buy a mic adaptor would it fall out on a roller coaster

It should be the ulanzi cold shoe PT-21 not PT-20.

Rode mic sounds like you're talking through a pillow. The Hollyland is so much clearer.
